  5. Exterior Hydrophobic Coatings

    A silicone-based transparent coating that penetrates the outer surface of exterior walls, creating a hydrophobic barrier at the molecular level. Water beads and rolls off — the lotus leaf effect. Unlike film-forming coatings, these don't change the wall's appearance or trap moisture inside. Effective lifespan: 5–7 years before reapplication is needed.

When to Waterproof: Timing Is Critical
